Who created the Bluetooth standard
Bluetooth differs from traditional wireless standards in that it turned out to be open standard that is generally accepted all over the world. This standard was created in 1994 by Ericsson Corporation. In 1998, the Bluetooth SIG was formed. A dedicated Interest Group, drawn up of representatives from the communications, computing and networking industries, drives technology to market. The Bluetooth SIG includes Sony Ericsson, Intel, Microsoft and many more companies.
The purpose of SIG is to promote the standard, provide interoperability, define radio parameters, protocols, profiles, and provide access to the standard Bluetooth. Benefits for manufacturers include standardized connectivity and protocols, opportunities for product improvement and differentiation, and reduced compatibility issues.
Broadcom is an associate member of the Bluetooth SIG and participates in various Bluetooth SIG Working Groups. Universal Broadcom Bluetooth drivers free download here https://bluetooths.info/en/download
